Dr. Shuttleworth was a son of B. F. Shuttleworth, Esq., of this city. He was 39 years of age and leaves a wife, but no children.

The Daily Telegram., December 19, 1903
The remains of Dr. William B. Shuttleworth, who died in Colorado Friday from asthma, are en route home, and will arrive here Monday morning on No. 2. No funeral arrangements have been made. Dr. Shuttleworth was a son of B. F. Shuttleworth, of this city, and resided at Martins Ferry, Ohio, where he practiced his profession successfully, being one of the most eminent physicians of that town. His age was 39 years. He leaves a widow, but no children. The remains are accompanied by his brother, Harry Shuttleworth, and the widow.
Dr. Shuttleworth was one of the most prominent physicians of Martins Ferry. He located in that city about sixteen years ago, and in a very short time was a successful practitioner. He soon had more than he could attend to, but in spite of the heavy tax on his physical power, he kept at work until unable longer to leave his room. After a few week’s rest, he decided upon the western trip, but it was then too late. When he left there his friends were fully conscious that he would never return alive.
