GERALD JACKSON JONES
Ill for several weeks of complications, Gerald Jackson “General” Jones, colored, aged about 60, familiar figure about the city, died yesterday morning at 9:30 o’clock at his home, house No. 9, Nutterdale.
Mr. Jones was a native of Halifax county, Virginia, but came to Clarksburg when a young man and has lived here since.
He was a carpenter’s helper and assisted in the construction of many well known buildings in Clarksburg.
He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Jones, of Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lena M. Jones, and one sister, Miss Evelina Jones, of New York city.
Funeral services will be held from the residence at 2:30 o’clock Monday afternoon in charge of the Rev. C. H. Woody, pastor of the Mt. Zion Baptist church, and interment will be made in the Fraternal Memorial cemetery.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o’clock Monday afternoon at the home at Nutterdale, an eastside suburb, for Gerald Jackson Jones, 60, colored, who died yesterday there of complications, following an illness of several weeks. The Rev. C. H. Woody, pastor of the Mount Zion Baptist church, Water street, will be in charge of the rites. Interment will be made in the Fraternal Memorial cemetery near Grasselli.
A native of Halifax county, Virginia, Mr. Jones came to Clarksburg when he was a young man and lived here ever since. As a carpenter’s helper, he assisted in the construction of many buildings in the community. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Jones, of Virginia state.
Surviving relatives include his widow, Mrs. Lena M. Jones, and a sister, Miss Evelina Jones, of New York city.
