Clarksburg: Investigation into the history of “Aunt” Millie Chapin who died here last week, develops that she was born in 1792, and consequently was 102 years old.

In childhood she was born a slave of Harmon Blannerhassett, later on was sold to a well-known lawyer of his timed named Pingry, than passing into the Chapin family, by whom she was owned up to emancipation.

She was employed as nurse at the birth and babyhood of “Stonewall” Jackson, and was known to him as “Mammy” up to the time of his death.
