Our initial mow of the 2018 season has once again been postponed.
We plan to mow the grounds of the Former Clarksburg IOOF Cemetery and the Daniel Davisson DAR Cemetery on Monday March 26th. Anyone willing and able to assist is welcome. Mowing will start around 9 a.m.
The weather being cooler so far has helped keep the grass short enabling us to focus on preparing for the upcoming Restoration Workshop on April 21st.
Further information on the Restoration Workshop can be found at the following link:
Headstones and other grave markers have been flagged with surveyor flags as follows:
- White for cleaning
- Red for resetting and repair
- Orange for Veterans
Today in addition to the previously marked Veteran’s graves, numerous other markers were flagged starting in the rear of the Former Clarksburg IOOF Cemetery heading towards South Chestnut Street.
Litter Clean Up
Today the Harrison County Youth Reporting Center came out and continued to assist keeping the grounds of the former Clarksburg IOOF Cemetery and the Daniel Davisson DAR Cemetery clean by removing litter along the freshly painted South Chestnut Street fence as well as the rest of the grounds.
Thank you to our many volunteers and donors. We look forward to seeing you at future events.
