Clarksburg, W. Va., Oct. 14–Prof. Edgar Bower, 54, formerly of the chair of modern languages at Roanoke College, Virginia, and a former instructor in the University of North Carolina, died today at his home here, after a long illness.

The widow and seven sons survive him. Douglas Bower, star quarterback on the West Virginia University freshman football team, is a son.
