After An Illness of About a Year and Friends Are Deeply Pained.

The funeral of Mrs. Rose Smith, wife of Armstead B. Smith, was held Monday afternoon at the home of her brother, W. S. Siers on Mechanic Street, and the interment was in the Odd Fellows’ Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith died Saturday evening at 8:00 o’clock at her home on Jackson street after an illness of about a year.

Surviving Mrs. Rose Smith are her husband and seven sons and daughters.

The latter are Miss Icy, Mrs. Charles Smith, Mrs. Clarence Dawson, Mrs. James Vondisen, Jack, Thomas and Walter.

Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late George W. Siers and was born in Shinnston. She resided in that town until her marriage in 1862, when she and her husband became residents of Clarksburg. Her age was 62 years.

Many relatives and friends are deeply pained over her death as she was a most excellent woman highly esteemed by all who knew her.
