Thomas Dale Lantz was born September 7 1921 in Elkins, WV.

He was a graduate of Washington Irving Highschool.

He married Mabel Marie Mulligan on August 26, 1939 in Kernstown, Virginia, to this union were born 3 children. Terry Lee Lantz lived a short life, he was born May 30, 1944 and passed October 5, 1948.

On February 22, 1945 Thomas Dale Lantz enlisted in the United States Army. Over the course of his enlistment he obtained the rank of Seargant. Sgt. Lantz was stationed at Camp Hood, Texas ; Fort Meade, Maryland; Camp Adair, Oregon; Leyte, Philippines: Guam. At the end of World War II, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the Victory Medal, the American Campaign Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Medal.

Sgt. Lantz passed from this life on May 3, 2007 at Clarksburg WV.

CLARKSBURG — Thomas Dale Lantz, 86, of Hart Street, Clarksburg, passed away suddenly on May 3, 2007, in the United Hospital Center.

Mr. Thomas Lantz was a retired electrical engineer with Fourco Glass with 30 years of service.

He was born in Elkins on September 7, 1921, a son of the late Lossie and Clara Stalnaker Lantz.

He was married to Mabel M. Mulligan Lantz on August 26, 1939, who preceded him in death on March 3, 2002.

Surviving are two sons, Max T. Lantz and his wife Beverly, Clarksburg, and Brian D. Lantz and his wife Jane, Annapolis, MD; two grandchildren, Katie and Jacob Lantz, Annapolis, MD; and one sister, Marjory Drummond, Bridgeville, FL.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Terry Lee Lantz; and three brothers, Howard, Marvin and Arthur Lantz.

Mr.Thomas Dale Lantz was a United States Army veteran, having served during World War II. He was a member of the Meuse-Argonne Post No. 573 VFW, where he was past Commander. Mr. Lantz was Protestant by faith.

Family and friends may call at the Davis Funeral Home, One Olen Thomas Drive, Rt. 98, Clarksburg, Sunday from 2-8 p.m., where funeral services will be held Monday, May 7, at 10 a.m. Reverend Amy Shanholtzer will officiate. Interment will be in the Chestnut Street IOOF Cemetery.
